In Michigan a registered sex offender Fred Topous Jr, 45,who was released in 2006 won the $57 million Mega Millions jackpot from the June Friday 13th drawing.

The ex-con's rap sheet includes assault with intent to commit sexual penetration with a 13-year-old girl, and two counts of breaking and entering.

He will take a $34 million payout.

Topous said he planned to buy a house, send his children to college and have some fun with his winnings.

He said he and his wife work multiple jobs to make ends meet and thought they'd have to work till they died.

"I want to enjoy a little bit of life," Topous told state lottery officials. "We're plain folks. We've struggled all our lives."

Mr Topous also wants to start a school for girls like Oprah did and wants everyone to know that he is in an open marriage, Mrs Topous was not available for comment.

"He's had some tough breaks," friend and co-worker Jan Westcott told OBB News. "I know some of his secrets, and he knows some of mine. I'm not going any further until someone makes me an offer."

Pastor Bobby Marshall of the Leap of faith church in Michigan said: " God loves a repentant sinner, it could have been easy to direct the money to good people but this example of God's love goes towards telling us all that thieving pedophiles deserve God's love too, join with me in praising the Lord's wisdom, amen."

The group known as 'The 5000' who allege Catholic clergy sex abuse and advocate for abuse victims were not impressed.

They said the problem is not just molester priests, but bishops and other church authorities who have let errant clergymen continue to serve even after repeated allegations.

"It's easy and tempting to continually focus on the pedophile priests themselves," said Peter Isely, a board member of the Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests.

The American church has paid more than $2 billion in costs related to the scandal since 1950 - the majority of that in just the last six years. Maybe he considers that enough.

The Pope will meet with President Bush but pedophile priests isn't necessarily on the president's top priorities for his agenda in talking with the pope.

Gary Glitter Collapses

Former Glam Rock star Gary Glitter collapsed in jail in Vietnam where he is serving a three-year prison sentence for sexually abusing two 11-year-old girls in March 2006.

The 62-year-old is under police guard and recuperating at a hospital in Benh Vien.

Pedophile Glitter was diagnosed with high blood pressure and erectile dysfunction last year and could be released early so he can be treated in the UK.

In 1999 he was convicted in Britain of possessing child pornography and served half of a four-month jail term.

He was found out when his computer full of down-loaded child pornography broke and he took it to PC world to be repaired .

Kiddy Diddler Glitter may try to seek damages from the famous Blogger and powerful Warlock Old Knudsen for mis-use of mystical powers as he recently speculated on how the Glam Rock star Pedo would be remembered when he dies.
