Kelly McGillis, who became an 80's pin-up playing Tom Cruise's love interest Charlie in Top Gun in 1986 has come out as a lesbian on the website Shewired.com. She has claimed to have battled with her sexuality for more than 40 years and that for long periods of her life she was convinced she was being ' punished by God' for being gay.
The actress has been married twice and has two daughters Kelsey, 19, and Sonora, 16 and now is currently single.The Guinness book of world records is now looking into Top Gun as a possible contender for the most gay film ever they just need Tom to officially come out.

How strange you feel Cruise is gay simply because he has preferences about women other gay men seem to. Perhaps bisexual but when you sue a conglomerate paper for insisting you're gay it's either because "methinks yon Tom protests too much" or, and don't be shocked, he's straight as a pin. Who cares, he shares his wealth and understands pain and poverty. I'm cool with that. As for Ms. McGillis I'm only sorry she had to fight to find her true self.
i think Katie Holmes actually is a man. Maybe we can get her to confess, so that Tommy boy doesn't have to do so. He is a sissy after all.
