Israeli Tourist Strips Naked For Money

Wellington, New Zealand, An Israeli tourist who felt harassed when New Zealand road workers whistled at her stripped naked in response.

Workmen in the small town of Kerikeri were repairing the main street when the young woman who was using an ATM took offense at their attention.

She calmly stripped bare causing the work and the whistling to stop and then put her clothes on and walked away.

Sgt. Peter Masters said the woman told police she didn't take kindly to the men's wolf-whistles."She said she had thought `... I'll show them what I've got,' " as the men whistled at her, he said.

"She gave the explanation that she had been ... pestered by New Zealand men who are all pigs . She's not an unattractive-looking lady I'd do her, " he said.

The sergeant has reviewed the ATM surveillance cameras closely.

"She was taken back to the police station and spoken to and told that was inappropriate (behaviour) in New Zealand," he added.

The workmen who did behave appropriately as stated in the U.N. labour charter for sexual harassment rights for workers who see women passing by were given pats on the back for making the woman strip off.

John Thomas from the New Zealand Work Relations Board said: "These men are a credit to the nation, true ambassadors who give hope to workers everywhere."

The trouble making tourist is to leave New Zealand soon.

Assault With A Deadly Hedgehog

Wellington, New Zealand a man has been accused of assault with a hedgehog.

Police said that William Singalargh, 27, picked up the hedgehog and threw it several yards to hit a 15-year-old boy in the North Island east coast town of Whakatane .

"It hit the victim in the leg, causing a large, red welt and several puncture marks," police Senior Sgt. Bruce Jenkins said .

The teen did not need medical treatment, he added. It was not known whether the hedgehog was dead or alive at the time of the attack, but that it was dead when collected as evidence.

Jenkins said Singalargh, was arrested shortly after the incident on a charge of assault with a weapon.

His lawyer, Rebecca Plunket, said Singalargh intends to plead innocent and says the hedgehog leapt at the boy before it died, like a suicide mission.

The maximum penalty for assault with a hedgehog is five years in prison, a hamster would have only been 4 years.

Santas Gone Wild

A gang of about 50 drunken Santas invaded a New Zealand cinema complex frightening customers, damaging property and swearing. The rampaging Santas were thought to be university students.

Manager Derek Rive said: "As they ran through the complex they wrecked everything they could including the Christmas tree - they bowled everything over. They were just absolute fools, not a bit jolly ."

He said the "hooligans" abused patrons, chanted obscenities, ripped down posters and knocked over cardboard figures advertising films.

Cinema goer Kate Gorman, aged 35 was there to see the movie "Enchanted" with her two children Gabriella, six, and Jackson, seven.

The confused children asked her," Have Santa's helpers gone crazy?" she answered them, "No, they are just idiots and Santa doesn't exist how many times do I have to tell you?."

As the marauding Santas left they triggered a fire alarm, forcing several hundred patrons to evacuate the complex for half an hour.

Security cameras caught the action and police are looking for 50 men with white beards and red velvet suits police are optimistic. .
