John Smeaton was one of a number of members of the public who intervened on 30 June last year when a burning car driven by two crazed Asian terrorists crashed into the airport terminal.At Buckingham Palace, he said her Majesty congratulated him with the Queen's Gallantry Medal.
The 31-year-old added: "We just had a wee chat. She said well done and congratulations." he said it was the proudest moment of his life .
Since the incident, Mr Smeaton has been promoted to head of security and booting terrorists at an airport car park.
